Greetings,
As my research continues for a folding bike (for my camper, etc), I saw a Cayne Rambler at my LBS; in fact, it is the only model he carries, and he says he really likes the m because the support from the company is good. The one I rode was a little different from my regular bike - it was a 3 speed (nexxus, I believe) with a coaster brake, which was very different. The LBS can order the 7 speed model for me with derailleur and front/rear hand brakes. Is anyone familiar with this specific brand/model? if so, what are your thoughts?

also, if anyone has had any negative experiences with this model, or a similar one, your comments would be appreciated.

Are you sure it's 3 speed? I don't see anything for changing gears.

I would consider staying with a 3 speed and not 7 speed. Since you would be keeping it for the camper, it seems it would be convenient for short shopping and sightseeing trips while camping. As such it is likely that 3 speeds would be sufficient for most applications. Should you encounter a very steep slope, you can always get off and walk some. 3 speeds is much more hassle-free and robust and can be neglected with little detriment.

As for the bike itself, the pic tells me it is a typical mass-produced folder of Chinese origin; for the above type of use it should be fine. I like the fact that you can adjust the handlebar height and that it is slightly bent forwards.

What is the asking price?
