Yesterday during my travels for work I stopped by a bike shop about 90 mins from my house to see what selection of Giant & Specialized bikes they had. No Allez's in stock til the '09s. I did test ride an OCR1 and really liked it. I would like to test ride a Trek 2.1 just for comparison.

However, the bike shop was awesome. The guy took his time with me, even though he wasn't guaranteed a sale with me. He actually measured my inseam to verify I was a large Giant Bike guy. I was surprised to see that I measured to fit a 60cm bike, everything I read about my height said a 58cm. He said that my 60cm and my 6'0" height puts me right smack in the middle of the size Large bikes for Giant, and I was perfectly proportioned--even torso and even legs.

Its funny, he put the bike on the trainer and plumb lined my knee and the bike fit me perfectly. No adjustments to the saddle or anything. Pretty cool! I guess this bike was built just for me.

I'm going to try and test ride a 2.1 this week and make my decision then, but I've been to 4 bike shops this past week and this is the only one that offered me a test ride and the only one that did a fitting for me. I wish it was closer to my house, cause they would get my business full-time.

They definitely want your business, most bike shops seem kinda apathetic. Unless they're seriously too far away, I would only do business with them.

Even if its a couple of dollars more expensive buy it from that shop as service like that is priceless and they more than likely will keep treating you like that, Make sure you post some pics when you buy it

The amazing thing is the OCR1 was $100 cheaper than my local LBS, and my local didn't have one in stock so they'd have to order one.

Hmm that's strange but I',6'1 and ride a 58 or 57 depending on the maker. If I'm correct and the fit calculator is correct, maybe the guy is wrong. I know I'd be uncomfy on a 60 cm.:(

Because the guy says everything looks good, don't be afraid to move the saddle around. Experiment to find the perfect position. Before I really got into riding longer distances, I'd listen to the shop guys. Then I was afraid to move the saddle based on what they said. Not till you go out and od a 50 miler, will you see that the setup isn't perfect. What you think may be perfect now can kill you on a century. Depending on where the pain is on your leg, you'll need to make adjustments. Even the $200 pro fittings aren't always correct. 2 fitters can have different opinions. You won't find out till you go out and ride. I now I've set mine up on the trainer and thought it was perfect. After 30 miles, realized my seat was a bit high so I had to drop it a bit. That was after installing a new saddle.:D
