gday out there im new here and its taken me sometime to find a forum on ellectric bikes ive bought a EAZYRIDE KHS E- BIKE and since ive got it ive had a heap of problems ,first of it would only go at 30kmh an hour ,for about 20km then the battery would just get slower and slower so i would switch to battery b,i was told i should get atleast 40km out of one battery ,im getting 20 but the battery is showing theres still charge in it ,id put it on the charger and it would say its at 70% ,the company i bought it from replaced the silver box under the seat ,that seemed to make it worse ,now i get les speed and less km , when i switch to battery b it goes full power for about 10 km ,then goes so slow the battery meter on the bikes dash says its full then when you throtel on it drops to low,has anyone else had any problems with this model,im nearly at the stage were im going to ask for my money back and get a different one,im getting the batterys tested by a battery company at the moment so maybe they might just need to be replaced ,any advice and help would be great thanks rob....

I have no experiance with you particular bike but after a look at their website I think you are getting realistic performance from it. They claim 30-35kph and a range UP TO 40 km. You will never get full range at full speed. Try driving at 15-20kph and you might get close to the optimum range! You didn't say what battery you have so I assume the standard 48v-12ah and the 48v-7ah in b position. Your performance is good with a lead-acid battery on that heavy a bike. (I have no idea how heavy you are and how much pedaling you are willing to do!

Then you'll have to make your question more clear because your bike is doing exactly what I would expect it to. Bike controllers will not run a battery flat, the electronics in the controller AND the battery would be ruined if they did. that's why it still shows 70% the controller probably cuts out at 42-43 volts.
The "battery level meter" is really a voltmeter, when you load up a battery it's voltage drops hense the change from full to half or low when you are using power with a partially discharged battery. When you take the load off the voltage goes back up, not to fully charged but often enough to make the battery meter read full again. so how you described your experiance seems normal to me from my experiance with electric powered vehicles!
Most manufacturers are really optimistic in their range predictions a lot like car manufacturers and their fuel economy advertizments.

thanks again for your help ,ok then ill try to explain my problem again,im 75kg,i have an eazybike khs,a chinese model im told it looks metal but is plastic, you said before that it seems a heavy bike ,are there better mopeds on the market ,i havnt pedaled it far as it is very cumbuson, you seem to have a lot of knowledge on ellectric motors ,can you advise me on the best battery i would get the best performance and best shelf life from please.the thing that im confused about is that i was told when i bought it that i would get 40km to a battery the most i can seem to get is 25km,and then the bike is going that slow ,i switch to the smaller battery, you say that they always say that you should get more kms than what you actually do ,well to me isnt that false advertising, they should say that you only get 20km to a battery then dont you think. anyway i was hoping that i would find someone on this forum that has the same bike and then i would know if i had bought a lemmon or if it was how that bike is ,but thanks so much for your expertize ,rob

Hi Rob,
How do you use your bike? Maybe the best bet would be to learn to operate within it's perimeters? They have a optional 20ah battery that would increase your range possibly beyond the 40kms?
The best thing though would be Lifepro4 batteries, they will give much superior range at 1/3 to1/2 the weight! very expensive though but they are coming down in price fast!Maybe you can put up with your bike the way it is till your batteries fail then replace with lifepro4's which might be much cheaper yet by then!
Good luck with you bike! wish they were legal here!
