It is in fact a form of the verb, aller, meaning 'to go'.

Allez comes from the French verb 'Aller', meaning 'to go'. In the context of the name of the bike, the Imperative form is taken of Aller and you get Allez. Pronounced 'ah-lay'.

cool, thanks for the help. I would have looked like fool when i went into my LBS and ask for parts for a al-eez instead of a ah-lay.

Well, it really means 'go on' or 'come on.' It's the plural intransitive conjugation of the infinitive 'aller,' meaning 'to go.' Yes, I was forced to take French in school.

I also ride an Allez Comp and love it.

I confirm qqy's definition. Take it from a French guy.
'Allez' is the term French spectators will shout to a favorite passing rider along the Tour de France route as a sign of encouragement. When you visit France during the Tour next Summer, look cool and shout 'Allez Lance' when Armstrong passes by.

By the way I also ride an 'Allez'. An old 1989-1990 carbon Allez Epic Pro. I love it.

One of the perks of watching Le Tour on OLN is hearing the correct(?) pronunciation of Alpe d'Huez, Team Once, Eddy Merckx, etc. Perhaps a prouncing dictionary of cycling terms is in order for us hicks. By the way, the title of the Cream album "Disraeli Gears" was based of drummer Ginger Baker's mispronunciation of derailleur gears.
