I've been really hit and miss with cycling the first half of the year. I'm afraid to even look up how many miles it's been because it hasn't been many!
So, I'm going to commit to a goal of at least 1,000 miles for the last half of 2008, which is about my normal pace when I'm cycling regularly. I have to give back about 8-10 pounds I allowed myself to regain, and then start the good fight once again for further weight loss.
Onward ho!

That's a nice goal. I thought 2000 for the year would be a good goal for myself since I did 1800 last year...little did I know how bad I have this bug and I now have readjusted mine to 3500 and I should hit that pretty easily.
Good luck.

You've been picking up weight from all of that juicing?
Whew! I thought you were already talking about your new friend as your "second half." ;)

As I sit here, laid up after thyroid surgery, it's pretty obvious that I'll get nowhere near my mileage goal for the year, either. I'm thinking the same thing, about just trying to get some decent miles for the second half of the year.
I'm not supposed to lift anything for two weeks, but I don't think that's going to stop me from doing an easy ride this afternoon.

Sounds like a sensible goal to me.
I'm behind on miles this year compared to last year, too. I'm not too worried about it since I've had some back problems preventing a lot of riding and the weather was lousy earlier in the year. I'm hoping to have more time for riding after retirement.
