Boil or go get a pair of Kool Stop disc-brake pads.

Hose them down with water then jump on the bike and ride it while lightly squeezing the brakes. Do this several times until you feel the grip of the discs is acceptable.
It ia all I have ever done to seat and clean mine and it works like a charm. No soap, no alcohol, just water.

I use DAWN dishwashing detergent to clean my bike and my brakes. WHY? Well, back when I was working at my LBS (Cannondale Dealer), it is what Cannondale recommended for stopping the squel of their in-house CODA brakes. I bought a bottle of DAWN and still have about 3/4 of it. Soooooo, I use that!

I've been cleaning the discs with a shot of Clean Streak from White Lightning. It's an aerosol solvent that I use to clean chains/displace water with and it seems to work great. It leaves a completely oil-free surface.
