Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Has anyone ridden the Amtrak Century (Irvine to San Diego) on a tandem? How did you get your bike back?
The website says they use 48" trailers to get the bikes back to Irvine. I can break the couplers apart if I have to, though I hate to risk something important getting dented from a rough trailer ride.
You might want to check back with the OC Wheelmen, I think those are 48' trailers they use to haul bikes back to Irvine.
There is a big difference between feet and inches.

Hey, you're right...it is 48'.
Your bicycle will be individually blanket-wrapped and transported in 48’ Trailers. Any additional protection is your option. All water bottles must be empty prior to loading on the trailers. Dump buckets are provided for your convenience.
