"My going to this year" what?
Oh wait... you meant "You're" -as in "You are", didn't you?
Well, now that we understand each other... ;)
Don't got to many concerts anymore. Too expensive, traffic's a pain, crowd's are just no joy.
Still, I got roped into couple I hadn't planned on that I just went to. All this month.
Jim and Morning Nichols at the Sanchez Concert Hall
Return to Forever at the Grand Ballroom at the Regency
The Rubinoos at the great American Music Hall.
That's right, I pretty much avoid the "big names" and the large scale arena concert scene like the plague.

I need to find someone to go to concerts with... Perferably someone who would ride with me.
it's a pretty tall order because it's hard enough trying to find someone who likes the same bands I do, let alone a bicyclist who likes the same bands I do...

I'm going to a Bluegrass festival this weekend at Eckley Village... Other than that no specific plans.
I haven't been to a real concert since the Trans-Siberian Orchestra a couple of years ago.

Prepare yourself for an amazing show. I saw them two years ago in a tiny nightclub, and we were almost close enough to get a high five. They really put on a show.
I forget that Nightwish is going to be accompanying themArgh! Now I'm really jealous!

Is Scott Weiland back on heroin yet? His shows were better that way. :P
Hopefully Sigur Ros where we are right now. My wife & I just moved so our financial situation has been more for moving and not for shows. I wanted to see We Are Scientists when we were in California for the week we were there. And we had planned to see Manchester Orchestra & Brand New at Lollapalooza, but we moved beforehand.

Midschool and TexasKid Those would make 5 years worth of best for me. You would have to do the entire list from 1984, it's that brief but it was GLORIOUS.
Concert No. 1 Chicago (17 tour Boise) 1984
Carole King City Streets (introducing Mariah Carey!) 1989
The Moody Blues-first concert, Idaho Center (built for sports and the new home of the Snake River Stampede)
R.E.M Green although my country loving sister that took me dug the live show and I liked the records better)
1998 H.O.R.D.E Festival (the LAST ONE) Nampa, Idaho Center Amphitheater: Blues Traveler, Barenaked Ladies, Guster, Ben Harper and Innocent Criminals and a cast of many broken legs of a VERY OPPRESSIVE day with $3 16.9 oz water and a lot of people using the drinking fountain to refill them. hard on my body but the NIGHT was MINDBLOWING FUN.
The Wild Colonials at Neurolux, Boise (and the Record Exchange meet and greet show) Angela is an awesome lady and I got a lot of talking in with them :)
Journey/REO Speedwagon/Styx VH1 Classic tour
Heart/Berlin ditto
Queensryche "Operation Mindcrime" was the one major disappointment as I got a balcony seat in front of a speaker back more or less, didn't know I should have earplugs but when I saw the staff...
The opening band Red Vulcan should've been called Real Vulgar and by 5 songs into the Queensryche set I KNEW I could not stay. Sure enough, a local middle school secretary I knew for years told me several kids returned with hearing problems. I could've bought a coupler cassettes of them and burgers for the gas money alone in the early 1990s!
Michael Martin Murphy, Malheur County Fair, Ontario, OR (got the short set, no $ and no Wildfire, still had a ball)
Doobie Brothers X2, once with Steve Miller Band
Alabama Farewell Tour (breathtaking and one of my favorites period)
The last one and only show in almost two years was back where I started 24 years ago...CHICAGO! Western Idaho Fair August 20th. Free with admission as all bands are now at the Fair. Nobody missed a beat so to speak for the 24 years in between. If I never see a concert live again, it was the best path to choose for me. I could want for Molly Hatchet, Cheap Trick, Foreigner and so many others I never got to but I could never feel dissatisfied EVER.

Experience Hendrix Concert, Chicago 10-26-08. It is a lineup of hendrix songs by various artists, including Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell, JImi's bassist and drummer at woodstock. Buddy GUy, Aerosmith's Guitarist, SOme guy from Muddy waters, and like 5 other people. Should be fun.
