Per the Baraboo Century of Hills being canceled, a few of us are looking for something hilly to do that day while the speedmeisters are drafting their way across Indiana at RAIN.

I'm going to put together a route in the 100 mile range (maybe more, maybe less) and we'll start it in Cross Plains like last month's Double or Nothing metric ride.

I'll post the route here when I get it mapped out. There will be some familiar roads and hopefully some new ones to challenge the mountain goat in all of us.

Chime in if you're interested and let the.... err.... sandbagging*..... begin.

*this takes on a whole new meaning these days, doesn't it? :o

I was trying to figure out exactly where that line was said in Pulp Fiction before I figured out you weren't doing that anymore...

Regardless, I'm in. I have an olympic distance tri the next weekend and this would be good training for that.

hmmm... perhaps I can actually drag my carcass out and actually do some riding with BFers.

what would be the target average pace?

And would we cross any HHH territory?

I'm always a possibility, if there is anyone who can bring an extra pair of shoes, a bike, and a helmet...in case i forget

HHH territory? You betcha. They put some of the best climbs on that ride (Sutcliffe, Barlow, Mounds Park, Pinnacle, etc), so I do my best to plagerize the route, with some variations here and there (Roberts Road, hopefully). This one will probably also have elements to the north of Cross Plains (HHH 200k stage 3 roads) thrown in to ramp up the mileage.

Stops will probably be in Black Earth and then Blue Mounds so folks can refill their bottles and get something to eat at a convenience store.

Average pace? Hard to say. This ride will probably splinter into many different tiny groups. When we rode the 63 miler a month ago, people were miles apart, but that was part of the plan. I'll put together a map and cue sheet. Maybe this time the fast guys will actually follow it. :)

As always, cyclpsycho will average whatever he wants as he flies away from everyone.

All, I'm not going to be able to make it to this ride. Just haven't had the time to put the route together and I have some other things on tap at home this weekend.

If anyone else is still interested in riding it, by all means go for it!

FYI, the 63 mile route map we used from Cross Plains in May is here (http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc205/cylowe97/2008%20Cross%20Plains%20Ride/cl97DoubleNothingMap.jpg). Cue sheet (http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc205/cylowe97/2008%20Cross%20Plains%20Ride/CLRideCueSheet.jpg).
