I needed something to combat my coarse bumfluff - it's somewhere in between bumfluff and real facial hair at the moment - whilst still catering to my pathetically girly sensitive skin which is often left rashed and irritated for a while after shaving despite using different methods.
I'd heard about these King Of Shaves products and how awesome they're supposed to be, so I decided to give it a shot. I picked up the "AlphaGlide Shaving Gel - Sensitive Skin" to be my test mule.

At the whim of my company at the time (I shall mention they were 3 females), I also purchased the "K-GL Soother. Post Shave - Daily Use".

Now back to business. The Gel was not like ordinary shaving creams upon first contact - it felt more like a hair gel than shaving cream. Either way, I lathered up. Well, I guess that would be the wrong term to use, it doesn't really foam at all and it felt like rubbing hair gel onto my face. So that was a little different, because I couldn't see if I had missed a little nook because there was no big visible chunk of foam on my face to start with.
First buzz of my Mach 3 razor (with a pretty new blade, I whacked a new one on last time I shaved which was Sunday morning) felt weird. There was no usual scraping and it felt like the razor made no contact with my face whatsoever. It wasn't until I decided to give that same spot a 3rd go that I realised the razor was in fact making contact with my skin, because I cut my cheek. It leaves a residue of some sorts, for lack of a better word, despite having actually shaved in that spot, which is a little off putting, and makes it difficult to know where you have and have not yet shaved, or whether you missed a spot.
I reluctantly continued shaving and I was somewhat impressed to be honest. I seem to have gotten a closer, smoother shave with the King of Shaves gel than my usual Gillette gel (Well, it dispenses as a gel but lathers to a dense foam). This stuff is bloody adhesive or something, as it took some time to fully rinse my face of all of the leftover gel and residue left behind off of my face. So i rinsed and patted dry, just like it says (I decided to follow the directions on the back to a T for fair testing purposes) on the tube of gel.
Well, I can safely say that the King of Shaves gel certainly works better than the countless Gillette gels/foams I have used before and the only gripe I have is the weird residue that is seemingly absorbed into your face, making it hard to tell what has been shaved and what hasn't.
Onto the "Soother". I must say, applying some form of a moisturizer post-shave is a completely new concept to me. Of course i wash my face with water, but that's usually it - maybe some aftershave if I'm going to a rather jazzy function, but that is very rare. So I traversed forward into the world of soother with a little intrepidation. The tube says "After shaving, pat face dry. Then gently massage a small amount of KG-L Soother into shaved skin until the blue micro particles are absorbed. Repeat after every shave". I think I used a little too much as I wasn't quite expecting it to come hurtling at the palm of my hand out the squeezy tube quite like it did.
The Soother I cannot really tell the effects of, maybe give it a few trial runs - using the old Gillette stuff/just water instead of the King of Shaves shaving gel to test whether I notice a difference. I will report back on that one later if needs be.
Long story short, the King of Shaves system gave me a very close shave despite following the same grain as when using the Gillette products and my skin was left 100% un-irritated and smoother than I think it has ever been. It loses points for the weird factor of the residue, and its price which was rather steep compared to Gillette products.
Final Rating: 8/10 Asian Mullets.
