Group Buy - Formula Hub Group Buy - 280 grams, $100?

Isn't everything in the bike industry delivered late? I wouldn't worry yet :)
Quality should not be a big issue. These hubs are widely used by OEMs. That said, I'm planning on training with sturdier yet shinier hubs (Campagnolo Athena).

what ever happened to this? the hubs arrived? do you have some extras?

I believe the status is that they haven't even shipped yet and those of us who put down deposits are getting impatient. :mad:

Really it is just frustrating...I want the hubs and the rims. Honestly if it were not you I would be worried about being scammed...but you are a long time member that I trust.

For those who are interested you should be aware that the entire industry is late right now. As of a few weeks ago Shimano hadn't even delivered all it's DA 7900 to the OE yet.

Basically big delays all over the place.

Small sales like a group buy are waaaaaaayyy down on the list. You won't get answers from suppliers because they are done telling everyone that their stuff isn't ready yet.

Now you sit and wait until you look in your inbox one morning and there is a notification that you stuff has been shipped.

Working out shipping details, hopefully it's on the boat in a week or so.

Shipment details are worked out, but it hasn't shipped yet (for both the hubs and the rims).

Ready for shipping from Taiwan (both rims and hubs).

I am thinking if they get on a boat this week it will take a week or so to get to you...maybe plus a week...then it will take you a couple of weeks to get them out to us? So...before Christmas?

FYI We use these hubs on our C6 carbon wheels 50mm tubular- they seem to hold up well.

Turnaround on my end should be pretty quick - like within a day - and it should only be about a week.

That said, I don't know how long it'll take for the boat ride and clearing customs.

No, it was acutally for just the hubs, but the rims have arrived too. Unfortunately I was out of line saying I'd ship them next week (although I still might be able to) as they're in *customs*, not at my door. Sorry for my mistake.

Do we know what the final cost is? What do we do now, those of us who put in a deposit? Will you contact us? Should we just check back here?

Sorry this keeps dragging on - I'm not sending the email until I actually get the parts in my hand. Allegedly they're at the trucking company right now, and I'm supposed to get a call (today?) when they attempt delivery.

Nope, both ended up coming in the same shipment, they went through the same customs people on both ends.

They're here. I'll be divvying them up the next few evenings.

I'm very interested, especially if they are in that nice grey colour and Campagnolo 9/10.

The ones that I received are very definitely silver. Haven't opened all the boxes yet, though.

so who built these up?

really looking to build some kinlin 30mm coupled with these hubs, and DT comp spokes, 24/28 SHOULD come in around 1550g I would assume? for the price I think that would make a damn good wheel... sub $400 for a set of 1550g 30mm rims.

The Front is 274 mm, if I recall correctly.

The rear I'm double checking with a build before I give out recommendations.

For 24h radial front and 28h 2x rear I got the following response from velocity:

The lengths that you should use are 274mm (front), 274mm (rear drive side) and 277mm (rear non drive side). Good luck with your builds.

I got my rims and hubs in today. Everything looks really good. I wasn't expecting the gray hubs, but I think that they would look really cool with....

Gray hubs / Black spokes / Gray nipples / Black rims

BTW, the hubs spin VERY smoothly. I was rather impressed.

I look forward to seeing some confirmed spoke lengths.
