Remember to "follow" your friends who follow you. That way you can have conversations that aren't all one-sided.

To converse with people just put '@nickname' somewhere in your message. Most twitter desktop/mobile clients will do this automatically but if you are using the SMS version it's not gonna be as smart.

Also remember if you have a mobile plan that charges you for every text message, twitter is a good way to rack up a serious bill! If you don't have an unlimited plan, set up your phone number and then turn off notifications until you know you want 'em (Say, the day of the Giro, for example!)

I've been trying to get Gtalk working with my Palm Centro Mundu IM client. Seems the twitter Gtalk service is down.

the IM gateways are ridiculously unreliable. SMS , the http://m.twitter.com/ web interface, or a dedicated client that uses their XML-RPC api are the best ways...

(yes, I am a twitter-holic, an offshoot of working at a mobile phone company)

Dang, I didn't notice that. It lost some of my followed and followers. I guess something happened with their last maintenance. I'll just have to add them back.

Okay, so I was using the search feature on twitter, and it wont return any results. I was trying to find my sister, who made an account last night, and still this morning the search thingy wont return any results. Anybody got any ideas?
