Try putting the bike in a harder/one of the hardest gears to pedal. Once you've got that down and gained the confidence in your technique...you can try it in progressively lighter gears. Pretty soon...you'll be a no handed freak!:thumb:

The trick is to lean back and put as little weight as possible on the front wheel.

Whoa! A fellow freestyler! You just reminded me of the names of some of those tricks I used to do back in the 80s. I could do ride backwards, end, bar endo, single boomerang, rock walk, 180, tailwhip, lawnmower, infinity roll (the creme de la creme was my backward infinity roll as learned from RL Osborne).
I could do a miami hopper (bar endo until bar touches ground) but I couldn't balance there.
I couldn't do a fire hydrant either -- that was being developed as I moved on to other things besides bmx.
I never could master the cherry picker -- I would practice climbing onto the bike from a chair, but never got the hopping down -- however, I could do front hops and back hops, so go figure.
probably my most impressive trick was the Switzerland Squeaker -- which was to go up on the front wheel (endo), and roll backwards using my foot on the tire.

I can go, stop, and have done the clipless fallover three times.
I used to do wheelies, and ride no handed.
I rode with no brakes for a few months in a hilly area (not fixie), so I got really good at sliding my bike on gravel shoulders.
I can buff a counter top with the French Maid.
