I recommend Spring Lake RV Resort (http://www.springlakervresort.com/)- - that sucker has dock-jumper written all over it :D

That was the first thing that came to mind when I saw how aerodynamic it was...that blue flame paint scheme needs to be doused with a fatty lake jump!!

What does that say? Timberline or Thunderdome? If I made a bike, it'd be called Thunderdome.

Heya, Timberlines were cool back in the day. Now they're hybrid bikes.

The chain shifts somewhat smooth and quietly. The fork tops out just harsh enough to make you look down to see if you just left the lowers behind. I find it odd that XC'ers back in the day used loooong stems. I remember doing it too. It wasn't terribly uncommon to wield a 150mm negative rise.

This'n is 140. When compared to my Jamis with a 90mm stem and 2" rise MonkeyBarz, the GT is ultra-sketchy on climbs as well as descents. It felt like the bars were down at my knees. I changed the stem to a 100mm x 5' with wide flat bars. It helped a bit, but it really needs a set of risers.

All in all...ya get what ya pay for. I don't think it will ever handle well. Maybe a taller fork would help. I'm definitely not going to put money into it though.

I type like crap on my phone ;)

What I should do is buy a rigid 29'er fork for it b/c it's taller. Then convert it to a SS.
