Cowboy walked into his favorite bar, which was usually packed about this time, and found it empty except for the bartender.
"Whar's everbody?" said the cowboy.
"Oh, they's all down at the town hall fer tha hangin," replied the bartender.
"Oh, yeh? Who's they hangin?"
"Ol Brownpaper Pete."
"Who? Brownpaper Pete? Niver herd 'o him. What's his story?"
"Well," said the bartender, "he's got a shirt mada brown paper, wears a brown paper hat, an his chaps are mada brown paper cut up all fringey like."
"Wull, I guess that's why his handle's Brownpaper Pete, then. Whut's he gittin hung for?" asked the cowboy.
"Rustlin."
"Whar's everbody?" said the cowboy.
