Cyclocross - Ever Pinch flat both tires at the same time?

Talk about lucky day...

Sunday on the way to work about 20 ft from the front door I hit a corner of a curb wrong and 'piffffff' I knew I blew a tire... What I thought was one was actually both. To make matters worse, haha, I get to the door and realize I forgot my access pass at home. It gets better... It started raining, and my cell phone was out of battery life and out of time on my pay as you go card...

and yes, I did buy a loto ticket ;)

I was riding in Ottawa behind a city bus (drafting) and did not see a pothole in time. I rode right through the large pothole and blew both tires at 40kph. They were completely flat in about 3 seconds and I was still trying to recover when I realized I had very little traction or steering with air in the tires. I learned a good lesson that day.

agreed, I learned a valuable lesson also... changing tires + portable pump = 40$
If it costs 10$ for 2 tubes everytime and you roll or pinch a flat that easily with clinchers I think im just going to go back to tubeless or buy stan's no tubes kit for 60$.

What PSI were you running? I don't run race pressures for street use.

Yes, yes I have. On the trails I bunny-hopped a log, downhill onto some surprising sharp stones. I noticed the front flat, patched that and when I mounted the bike discovered the back flat also. Made me want to turn around a go home.

My most memorable flat was also last year when I ran over a loose stick and it popped up and sheared off my front valve stem in an instant. I went from sixty psi to zero in 0.15 seconds. That was a walk out.

shi*ty pope! M_C i run between 50-60psi for street... I run them about midway of the suggested tire inflation.

I've seen the same thing happen. There was a dirt path that turned into a brick path ... one of the riders didn't bunny hop the 3" lip and blew both tires. This was literally seconds into the race, before the riders even took their first turn into the taped off sections of the course.

you were 20 feet from the front door, were you going to call mommy for help? the good thing about tufo is no more pinch flats.

lol no i wasnt going to call mommy for help, was going to call my co-worker to let me in the building as its on lockdown during the weekend without an access pass... I guess you missed the part saying "I get to the door and realize I forgot my access pass at home" I guess I could have called my mommy but being in another city and her being retired kinda would have made things a bit difficult.
