The wifey is 7 weeks pregnant. Score one for Specialized Body Geometry saddles! :D
Still approaching it with the usual 1st trimester cautious optimism, but so far so good... :)

RE-LAX, it's a joke, implying that he's gonna be missing a lot of sleep once the kid comes in. Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the futon or something??

DrPete, are you no longer providing BF surgical consulting services??? I got this pain right here...
Congrats. It is the most challenging job you will ever have. Would not trade being a dad for anything in the world.

I was told by a couple folks that my av and my tagline were too self-important and I got tired of hearing it.

Let me be the first to say that your avatar is far too pedestrian and your tagline is ambiguous.

Congrats Pete! That's exciting! So, how soon can you strap them into those baby buckets, and take them for a ride?
Congratulations! Can't wait till artifice and I get busy making kids. Someday...
yeah, about that... I'm still at the stage of my life where I'm kinda scared of kids and want nothing to do with them. In fact I tend to wonder if I'll ever grow out of it... don't get me wrong, the baby-making practice aint so bad.

Congrats Dr. Pete!!!
At least you remembered something from med. school!!! hehehe
My best friend always said: The day they brought the newborn home... his house changed from a parliament democracy to a ruthless dictatorship in a matter of seconds!!!
Still I envy you ...we'll never be able to have a child of our own... and I feel so happy when other children are well received into this world!!!
ENJOY IT!!!

Congrats, Doc! Don't have any myself but with 13 nieces and nephews, I've seen the joys and frustrations and absolute abject wonderment of the art/challenge/mystery of raising a kid. Enjoy it and good luck!

Congrats doc. Tell your wife to take it real easy for first few months nad quite easy until the final month.
Women use a peculiar term for getting pregnant. They use it in a phrase such as "We're planning for a baby". It's a curious phrase. Wat does it mean... we are going to b*nk one day, and that's what the plan is, or we are currently b*nking.
I am planning to buy a car. Does that mean I'm in the showroom ready to sign a deal, or I['m at home just thinking about what car I'm gonna get next?
Congratulations! My sister-in-law just had her first about two weeks ago. My son is now 13 m.o. and I'm just now at the point where having another kid seems like a good idea. Then I was reminded by my nephew what life was like the first 3 months of his life (not to mention the 9 months leading up to his birth).
God speed.

Outstanding, and Congratulations
It's actually pretty awesome to be a dad, I don't regret it at all. I wish you the best; all the pre-birth fears were completely groundless for me.
Except watching the birth, that was something I could have done without. But I'm sure as a surgeon you'll be falling asleep through it

Just remember DrPete, those kids have to be fed nearly every day.
Mine are 12 and 9, adolescence is fun.

Some things to look forward to:
Not having to worry about getting pregnant for the next 7 months (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)
Bigger, er, ah, (you'll figure it out)
hearing the words "Honey it's time to go" at three am.
See just how much, and the rainbow of colors, of the fluids that can come out of a human body during the birthing process.
Seeing a doctor looking at you wife's nether regions like Johnny Bench waiting for a fast ball.
Watching it all and thinking, 'glad I don't have to do THAT.
Cutting the cord.
Trying to take pictures of a blue, they come out blue, baby while crying uncontrollably.
Not sleeping, because the baby is sleeping and not making noise.
Losing all fear of bodily waste
Being puked on
Being amazed about how much can come out of a little body, both ends.
Being amazed about how a little body can smell so bad.
The first steps.
The first word.
The first fight.
The first day of school
The first bike
The first ride with out training wheels
The first endo.
The first trip to the ER.
Little league.
Soccer.
Understanding why some species eat their young.
When you see your son with his friends, and realize he is becoming a man.
Constant worry.
And a thousand more things you will discover on you own
Is it worth it?
Every MF'n second.
Congratulations and Good Luck
May Momma and Baby be healthy.
