Foo - What do you steal?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

What do you steal?
Do you watch free episodes of television for free on the internet? Do you download music and movies?
Do you walk into a bookstore (not library), and read, a few chapters at a time, a particular book until you are finished and not buy it? (Do you consider this to be stealing, the only exception is that you don't really get prosecuted).
Hmmm, no music, cable or internet (ok I used too) and reading at the bookstore - I never remember to take my stupid reading glasses so even some ingredients at grocery stores I have to have someone read them to me (grr - BUT HEY - I have 20/20 for seeing far away!!!), and so at the moment I have my topsy-turvy angelic wings on and can only say I snitch an occasional egg or yogurt from the roommates (who go to the warehouse stores and buy a ton of it at a time so it's not like it's the last one), but I replace when I get paid. Oooooooo - where's my halo? :)

I wouldn't consider it stealing because someone is giving it to me and they know about it(music/tv). I read magazines at the bookstore and don't buy them but hey I want to know what I'm buying before I get it and then I decide it isn't worth it. Now the real deal, this one time at the Swap Meet. . . oh nevermind. .

You know the little divider thingies at the supermarket for separating your groceries from the next person in line?
I steal those, do unspeakably kinky things with them...then put them back.

I just download music. However, the music that I download is not RIAA-certified, and many of the artists condone it. In that case, is it stealing?
I steal bike lock keys from avatar infringers.

I occasionally download movies and shows illegally and I download illegal copies of software. I don't steal, however. Stealing and making illegal copies are two different things.
I've shoplifted/stolen something only once. I was about seven years old, and had gone with my grandpa to a plumbing store. For some reason, I decided that a ball gas valve was something I really needed. So I took it. I was absolutely terrified for hours afterwards. I still have the valve somewhere, probably at my parents' house.

Mp3's.
Occasionally I will eat a nut or something out of the bulk food bin at the grocery to determine freshness.
I also thieve glances of hot men, and...
I just happen to receive US weekly, although I've never paid for a subscription. I've been getting it for about a year now, despite them asking me to renew. What's to renew? I never subscribed in the first place...

I stole Silly-Putty one time and got caught when I was in grade school. My buddy started crying and the manager let him go. So I thought... hmmmm, maybe if I start crying he'll let me go too! No workie!!
Luckily my parent's weren't at their desks at work so he wasn't able to reach anyone and just let me go. I overheard him tell the cop that he just wanted to scare me. So I wasn't worried after that. Doh!
Funny thing is that my buddy, who was let go, also stole something but I guess the manager didn't see him do it. The turd!
So the lesson I learned at that time was don't get caught. and if you do don't sweat it cuz you'll probably just get off anyways! Oh wait... that's not the lesson I was supposed to learn... :innocent:
When we lived in TX I got free cable for about a year. Although it wasn't stealing because they just never turned it off when I cancelled it. So it wasn't my fault they never turned it off and that I never unhooked the cable line!

I read super fast, so I've stopped at a newstand and read several articles from different magazines that I didn't have money to buy.
I've plugged stuff in to recharge at work as well, and occasionally share music/mp3s with people.
When I was about 9 or 10 I took an extra piece of candy at a Candy and Variety store. I couldn't sleep, the next day I took the candy back, told the owner and paid for it.

I have gotten real bad about putting the number for the regular brown rice on the tag for my long grain brown rice. When I worked for ShopNBC I took every pair of scissors I would come across. I dont know why, I just did. I ended up with a big cardboard box (fruit box kind of thing) PACKED with scissors. I had a boss that brought his bowling ball in to work every tuesday (actualy in to work, not just to work and left in the car). One afternoon I took the ball out and stuck 4 bricks in there. He was so pissed the next day the vien on his forehead looked like a nitecrawler. I held onto the ball for a month and then one day while he was in a meeting, snagged his keys and put the ball loose in his trunk. I was laughing so hard on my ride home, thinking about him taking corners and hearing something bouncing around in his trunk. The next day he was going BALISTIC. Told everyone that they new who did it and if they came clean they would go easier on them. Right on.

Did ya ever take from Terry's store?
I used to get drunk and steal cool pint glasses from bars and then I'd jack a burrito from the kwik-e-mart after. College was fun.

i shoplift most of my clothes from thrift stores, and random consumer crap from target and the like i want. i've stolen a few bikes before. not anymore though. when i pass a restaraunt with outdoor seating, i usually take some of the leftover food/drinks/bread whatever is there. i get my food for free, otherwise i'd lift that too.
