Foo - So I'm doing 125 miles tomorrow ...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
And I just found out the group going --- all men - and all cops, including a retired SWAT police chief (he's doing another 125 on Saturday), the cop who heads up the a district downtown, another who patrols via Trek mtb in the downtown area and a retired detective.
and moi!

Don't embarrass them by riding too fast ;) Cops who cycle are generally pretty fit, but they also have tend to have heavy builds which slows them down considerably.

retired SWAT commander and retired chief of detectives both work in criminal justice here in school - and there's a group here at school who tour each year - I toured with them one year 5 days, about 450 miles, and we got together a couple weeks before tour and did a century. So it's become a yearly event. Just so happens this year their cop buddies are attending. I guess I should feel pretty darn safe!
My friends are all snickering about my double life. :p

OT, but I have to ask now since I like the fly on the bicycle:
Did you actually create that?

No I found it - I'm a Google Queen :p Think I found it using "Flies Funny". And the flys became a theme :D
I have it as wallpaper too.

125 miles isn't that much of a ride, really, as long as you have time, nutrition and the weather is reasonably cooperative. Have fun!

Yeah this one won't be bad, flat for 65 miles (little boring actually as we traveling a trail along the Erie Canal) then hit a few good climbs, then hit some crazy parts of Buffalo that dump us out onto what I can only describe as a 6 lane freeway - where our fearless leader will then tell us that our "exit" is on the left! - and it will be Friday Afternoon rush hour traffic as we gaze over ALL the busy lanes to our exit, then it settles down with the rest of the way - traveling some nicely laid out trails along Lake Erie then onto some low rollers to flat the rest of the way. Not like the last one I did, I swear who ever designed that charity ride was out for blood as it it was nothing but climbs.

use your broom to get over the expressway into the left lane exit.

Actually, having all those guys who can probably legally pack heat on a ride, some gunfire should clear out the traffic nicely! :D
