Northern California - Excited, appointment for a bike fitting tomorrow

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

But I'm also a little hesitant. Hopefully it's money well spent, $150 is a big chunk of change. No current issues besides being a wuss about putting on my clipless pedals. But I want to stay problem free as my mileage increases.

It's a really good idea. I've been putting it off for too long, and if I were smart, do it this week so it's all dialed before ANOTHER double century. I kinda half-arsed it last week by getting fitted for new shoe inserts. Helps a lot already but I know I would really benefit from a professional strategery session. Who will be doing yours?
Excellent idea, and well worth the money. Where are you having it done?

Good luck. You are probably going to do this anyway, but just in case, make sure that you permanently mark where everything is on your bike afterwards, so you can reproduce it should anything slip or be changed in the future. Also, be sure that when you are asked to pedal, pedal as hard as you would on the road (don't *****foot it), and pedal the same way you always do (don't try to affect any pedaling technique you don't actually use). If you are getting new clipless pedals and cleats as part of it, ask the fitter if you should perhaps get your foot a little more forward on the pedal than the usual rule of thumb.

Who is doing the fitting? Let us know what they do and how it works for you.
Be vary wary about "fittings" that just take various body measurements and plug them into standard formulas. A real fitting should involve riding the bike and watching/correcting how your body moves in various situations.
