....for red, non alu bottle cages. I have the Profile Design nylon ones (that cracked) and I don't need carbon.

What do you have the fits the bill?

I kind of have to have red. It balances the red bar tape. And the red nipples.

The bike frame would be easier to clean with the cages that botto suggests.

Aluminuminum marks up the bottles. The ones botto suggested are nice but they are alu.

Tude, those are pretty close to what I have now. I wonder if it says Bontrager on them....

All the request said was "pics". But I figured you've seen one red nipple, you've seen them all.

it said more than pics!.
And I disagree with the idea that all nipples are alike. They are not.

Okay, you got me there, MV. *shakes finger at you* The pic is of the wheel, not the bike.

Yes, the nipples are not alike. I had them alternating, the non anodized on the drive side for strength. :thumb:

get carbon... I know I didn't, and i regret not having done so. My last bottle cage holder has long since broke off - leaving really sharp pointy ends, (it was made of quality stainless steel too). And my other nicer bottle cage holder is on my road bike - which is in a dismembered heap (awaiting new tires).

I just got around to removing the broken one from my frame - but before I did it could have caused me serious injury or sepsis (or is that 'tetanus' :D -? ) .. I don't know, all I know is that I left it on there for way to long. It tore the pant legs and messed up at least three cargo slacks and work pants.

Carbon is kinda spensive for someone that is not a weight weenie. Oh and I found out that the Taxc Tao is meant to hold the Taxc bottles. I like the bottles I have now.

Any other ideas?

Not in red, but I have fibre reinforced plastic cages like this on my Trek, that have been moved from bike to bike to bike for the last 20 years. Light and indestructable.

all cages scratch bottles.

they mark he bottles no more, and no less, than any other cage.

Alu cages leave behind a residue caused by oxidation of the metal.

Siu, I have the same bottles and don't have any problems with my alu cages. My cages are black which, I think goes good with my bike. You can also get red bottles from Polar.

Rowan

You won't have problems until the anodising that gives the cages their colour does in fact wear off where they contact the bottles. Then your bottles will start marking up.
