I was given this trainer and as It's kinda cold out right now I was going to give it a try, the problem is the back where the wheel-runner thing is is adjustable and I dont know where to put it? Should it be farther back or directly underneath?

Thanks

First off, if there is a bracket that supports the bike at the bottom bracket? From the picture, it kind of looks like it but the crank arm is in the way. If there is, then most of your weight will be supported on that, therefore It wouldn't matter much where the resistance wheel is. You can always try to find pictures of similiar trainers and see how they are set up, or go to the manufacturers website and see if you can find information there.

The resistance unit should sit behind the rear wheel.

Position the resistance unit roller so there is enough pressure against the rear tire to give some "resistance", like when riding on the road.
The tire shouldn't slip on the roller when you're really cranking.
