Mountain Biking - Wide Shoes

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I need to get some shoes to go along with my upcoming purchase of a pair of Mallet C pedals, but I have no idea where to start. The big problem is that I have pretty wide feet (or FOOT as it is, my right foot is wider than my left, go figure). I usually have a pretty hard time finding regular shoes that fit me, nevermind about MTB shoes. Are there any shoes that run on the wider size compared to others? I would like to spend under 100 bones, so price is also an issue

Sidi's might be a good option, but I doubt you'd find a Mega Dominator for less than $100. Maybe via mail order, but that doesn't really help you to figure out if it fits.
I've got a wide foot too, and found the Specialized shoes to fit me pretty well. I use Specialized Sport MTB shoes (http://www.specializedbikes.com/SBCEqProduct.jsp?spid=5330&JServSessionIdroot=fgjn64darv.j27006&ti_sprd_ses=jdn%24j%3DIBE%3A1009%3AIBEGUEST%3AUS%3A%3AUSD%3ADD-MON-RRRR%3AJTFUCSS.CSS%3Ajtfpfalse%3Ajtfpi-1%3A671%3A22372%3A0%3A17891595%7Ezv%3D17891595%7Ezs%3Dt%7Ezp%3D1025%7Ezo%3D-1%7Ezm%3D10080%7Eses%3D0586AA72A20E4223AD6FD106D411C807%7Ezj%3DGuest%7Ezi%3D1025%7Eze%3D22372%7Eza%3 D1023%7Ejsm%3DJTF_FULLSESSION) (retail about $70) which work well with both Egg Beaters and Candy SL pedals, so should be fine with the Mallet Cs. The three straps on the shoes make it easy to adjust them.

I wear EE shoes (duck feet) and have had excellent service out of Lake brand shoes. They tend to be cut on a wider last than many shoes.

Hey Man,
Why not do like me & go 2 your local bike shop 2 try them on , then buy them online somewhere? That's the American way, huh?
I personally like Specialized, and Shimano brands, but don't think they run on the "Large" size...
