Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Ok,
I need some honest opinions from those who have tried both types of socks.

I own socks from both companies. Other than style, I don't really notice a difference between the two.
The difference between these and regular cotton socks is significant!
I'll buy whichever style is more suited to my liking. Right now Sockguy is more in tune with my style! (Whoa! Sounding too Metro Man!)

I have to go with DeFeet!
I like deFeet, some of the designs are a bit much tho.
I've also discovered I really like Smartwool, they
feel better to me than the synthetics.
I've ordered a bunch of Woolistic socks and will let you
know what I think when I get them. . .

Design makes no difference, we will be getting custom designed socks. If you ride our century, you can have a pair for yourself.

If you are looking to buy for a large outing I would recomend DeFeet over SockGuy.
...and what Century ride? Iowa's not too far from WI. In fact don't tell anyone but my great grand parents are from Decorah.

I'm slightly partial to SockGuy... I like how the toes are stitched in... no seams to give me blisters...
but Defeet are pretty good too

Ok,

DeFeet socks are made in America. They suffered a terrible fire at their manufacturing facility a few year's ago, but continued to pay their employees, and rebuilt their facility in North Carolina. Unlike many clothing manufacturers, they are committed to producing their products here, rather than paying somebody in Asia 50 cents per hour.
I'm not sure where Sock Guy socks are manufactured.
I've used both, and like both although the DeFeet products generally seem to be a little better in terms of durability and construction.

I spoke with the sock guy sales rep. These are true custom woven socks. They design the pattern and then the machine weaves the sock. They are not printed on fabric. The design is actually woven in.

I'm pretty sure this is the same technique used by DeFeet.

They are both good quality socks. Shop for price.
I have both but prefer Smartwool.

Isn't anyone concerned about the agony of DeFeet?
I own a bunch of both brands. I prefer the Sock Guy stuff.

I have both..See no difference..SO far this year, I have only worn my latest Sock Guy socks..For Christmas my latest Sock guy sock have beersteins on them..Sooner or later I will wear some other sock... Actually, think this is the first Sock guy sock i own.. Other than Beersteins, all the same.
I always buy new socks on sale. Not the beerstein socks..Had to have them right now.. Funny, when out on a ride, I usually drink coffee or some kind of juice..

I have Sock Guys, Defeet, and Smartwool socks. All are good socks, but I prefer Sock Guy wool socks over the other two. Wool is the way to go no matter what.
Based on what you said about customs for a century,
I'd go with DeFeet. Partially because of the whole
fire/support employees thing.
Other than that I agree with above post, shop for price.

Is that the same as the device is on the workbench?

I'm not sure but Denise and Denephew think it is.
