i need something rugged. my last one was a generic nashbar one, but the straps that hold it to the seat rails ripped off the bag. id like one that secures it better than with just straps and velcro. are there any bags out there that use a plastic clip or something of that nature to secure it to the seat rails? i dont carry too much in my bag, so i dont need a super huge one. i carry my alien tool, patch kit, keys, inhaler, crescent wrench, and sometimes a spare tube if i can fit it(not usually though). just so no one asks why i carry a cumbersome crescent wrench--i ride a SS MTB with a bolt on rear axle, not a QR..
lemme know what you all have and what you think of it
thanks ya'll

I have used a hydration backpack for over 10 yrs. now, and it's really the best way to avoid infection from all the horse dung you come across.... Thank me later.... I don't carry near all the stuff U carry.... I rarely break down....

I use a Jandd leather seatpack. I cut off those flimsy velcro straps and instead use leather toe straps to secure the seatpack.

Until I started using my Camelbak, I used this one. Still hangs on my pegboard.
The seat rail clips hold it rock solid.

I use a preformance bag that I have had for years It carries my lock which takes up to much room in my Camelbak also gives me a place to strap my wind breaker to which also takes up to much room in my Camelbak.

thats the kind of fastener i want! is it for sale? :)
On my fixed gear and beater bike I use a Burrito Wrap (http://rivendellbicycles.com/webalog/baggage_racks/20003.html). Unlike the picture, I mount mine on the seat rails. Very flexible on how you can mount it to the seat rails.
Ditch that adjustable wrench and get a Craftsman Stubby 15mm wrench (http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?BV_UseBVCookie=Yes&vertical=TOOL&pid=00944117000) from Sears. Lifetime warrenty. Adjustables are hell on axle nuts.

According to their website, Cannondale still makes 'em. The mini wedge is the one I have. http://www.cannondale.com/clothing/04/cw/CLOCWBAGSEAT.html
