I'm in for this one. I did the RR last year and the course was a lot of fun. Should be even better with a decent size field this year. It looks like you guys pull a lot of racers from Arkansas and Mississippi. I don't recognize too many names on the registered riders list.
And I learned a valuable lesson about hydration in that ridiculous heat last year. Been drinking plenty of water all week.

I'm in. Did a recovery ride in Jackson, TN at my in-laws today. You guys should call this the "Race on the Sun".

I'm in. I raced this as a 5 last year and thought I was going to die in the heat of the RR. I like the TT and Crit course. Looks like a good field of 4s. I'll be in the ICS-Chain Reaction kit trying to hang on in the 4s.

The road course has been changed due to a funeral (again) at the church. Not much different except you dont turn left at the church going back towards the finish.
Follow the directions given to the old starting location and you will see the course when you turn off of hwy 194. Should make for a better event IMHO.

Olheiser is a beast! I saw him when the Masters race at the Music City Crit a few weeks ago and then enter the P/1/2 a race and single handedly pull back in the break away that stayed away most of the race. He's a monster!!
On another note, I will not be attending the race this year :'( High gas prices have finally affected my funding enough that I can't afford to race anymore. I'm a grad student and my tank is $80 bucks to fill (the car is paid off though). Hopefully i can afford to race some next season.

William,
Just wanted to drop a note to say how much I enjoyed the road race today. It was an extremely well-run event. Plenty of Port-o-potties, a nice open location, smooth registration, a well stocked neutral feed with plenty of volunteers, an easy wheel-truck setup, and a pretty cool t-shirt to boot. Not to mention you guys were able to hire that Oxy-Clean guy to come in and to the pre-race rules talk :D . My only disappointment was that I did not have the motor to bridge to the break (or it would have been even better to have been in position when it went.....). Very enjoyable event. I'd highly recommend it to anyone and will plan on coming back next year. Please pass on my thanks to your club.

Heh I was one of the guys disrupting the chase.. Had two team members in that break and did the right thing. Think I still got 2nd in the pack sprint so its all good :)
Lots of wrecks and a few had to be taken to the local area hospitals. One guy from M&B fell in the 3s and punchured a lung! Not a good day for us racers in that regard.
You will enjoy the crit if you are sticking around as its flat and wide open. Should be really fast.

You guys did it right. You did a good job blocking and the sheep in the group let you do it. I was only able to get through on the descent. Sounds like you guys may have been better off if you could have gotten off the front. 2nd in the group was pretty good. That was a longer sprint than I thought it was going to be. Good luck in the crit today.
