Hello,

A few years ago I saw some speakers that mounted in the tips of the handlebars (like the bar end shifters). Now, for the life of me, I can't find anything about them. I have a vague memory that they were Sony speakers, but I could be completely off. Does anyone here know what I am talking about. If iti helps jog a memory, I also seem to recall them being yellow.

Thanks,

They don't seem to be around anymore, but the Internet Wayback Machine has this:

I once saw a bicycle radio that was made to fit a bottle cage. I can't find it now. It was a complete unit with built in speakers. No wires to run and was a pretty slick design. Even had an Ipod pocket so you could use the speakers and amplifier instead of the radio if you wanted to do that.

The ih85b is the ipod speaker that looks like it will fit a bottle cage. It will, if you CRAM it into the cage. It is slightly larger than a typical water bottle.

I ride in listening to my ih85b every day. It has no radio function. It only plays from docking ipods (no shuffles) it runs on 4aa batteries. You can charge the ipod in the unit, but it won't charge the aa batteries. 2300mah recrargables will run at least 10 hours. I have to charge my ipod 2x week and the ih85b batteries 1x per week.

The ih85b is currently about $42 from circuit city. http://www.buy.com/retail/product.asp?sku=204320220&listingid=16525041&dcaid=17902

Thanks, that was it. At least I know what they were called and can try to track some used ones down.
