I just got my new touring bike, I've never had one. I bought the 520 & I'm ordering front & rear Ortlieb Classsic panniers & the handle bar bag for it. I also want to add some fenders, I like the look of the planet bike brand, however I am open to suggetions. The model I was thinking was the Cascadia ATB black, it has the extended mud flaps. What size do I need to order, I have 700X32c tires on it? Any advice on this is very much appreciated! If you have any input as to what I'm looking at doing, feel free to chime in. I am not sure which front rack to go with yet as well. You can spend a chunk of money on that front rack, any suggetions on a moderatly priced rack that is a good one. I don't mind spending money where I need to but i hate wasting money.

As far as the fenders go, the size would be the Hybrid/Touring fenders. I have those on my LHT and am running 700x35 and there is plenty of room. as far as racks go, it's really a matter of preference. I have the Surly Nice Racks on front and rear. Not the lightest, but I really like them.

I got SKS P45 on my LHT with 700x35c. The P45 are 45mm wide and work fine with my tire size but I wouldn't put bigger tires with them. They should be fine with 32c.

I run SKS P45s on my 520 with 700x32c. It doesn't look like it'll fit 700x35c's with the fenders on, so there ya go.

My dealer put on a set of Bontragers (owned by Trek) fenders on when I bought my 520. They fit good and so far after one year no worries.

Racks, I have Tubus Cargo rear

and Tubus Tara rack for the front

they have worked good for me. They are also imported by the same company as your Ortlieb panniers.
By the way Ortlieb is good choice in panniers.

Are you talking about your 520? Because 35c fit fine with P45s.

I sure appreciate all the great info. I got my shifters changed over to (I'm going to kill this) STI or break lever shifters & took them off the ends of the bars. I had the additional brake levers put up top. Nice suggetion from my bike shop. I like riding in an upright position because of a neck injury. I really like the balance of the bike at very low speeds. Way more stable then my old Trek 5000 carbon bike. I can't wait to get my panniers on it & hit the open road!
