Hello everyone!
I have the chance to purchase a 1999 Bianchi Eros chromolite frame 55cm (I am 5'11) with carbon fork and a FSA orbit extreme headset. It seems like a good purchase. can anyone tell me about this frame in general and if it a good purchase. I am a first time road bike buyer although I an no stranger to bikes. I have no problem buying the frame and building it up in time for spring. I want a durable, light frame mostly for weekend riding, and ive always wanted a Bianchi.

When I first got the idea I wanted a road bike the Eros was first on my list, great ride, it just wasn't stiff enough so I got a Cannondale instead. The Eros would be awesome for crusing around town and having a blast. If it works for you its a great bike. I believe it has all the braze ons for racks and fenders and such making it very versitile and it will not empty your pocket book.

Hi,
my guess is that a 55cm frame is going to be too small for you. Go to a Bianchi shop and test ride a couple of them. The Eros is a sweet bike, but only if it fits.

I have enjoyed my eros quite a bit. But I agree about the fit, you sound a little tall for a 55.
