Advocacy & Safety - What we've learned this week.

There's nothing wrong with everyone carrying a gun, just as long as they aren't driving an SUV, as people become homicidal maniacs if they are driving an SUV. But anyone can ride a bicycle, except that they need special equipment and dedicated facilities before it will be safe to do so. Everyone else that is already riding is suicidal and if they don't have the special equipment they are making a bad name for those cyclists who do have the special equipment. High gas prices are good, except now there are more of those people riding bikes without special equipment before the state has had time to build the special facilities. And now on top of all this there are all these wild animals running around, monkeys, lions, bulls, and cyclists running into bears.

Now I recall why I took a break from the bikeforums.

I think I'll take the family and ride to the ocean for a swim tomorrow.

Hah! That is great. Next time someone tells me that they can't ride a fixed gear bike I will send them this photo.

As long as he stays in the swimmer lane he'll be ok. Just don't go doing anything stupid like trying to use the boogie board or jet ski lane. And only real idiots use the boat lane. I saw this one guy swimming on the wrong way down the starboard side of the boat lane without a foghorn once. What a bulwark!
