Great Lakes - Radio Reports on TdF+BIFNIC prize offer...play along!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

--Final preparations are being made for the "Rainbow Jersey Pick the Podium" contest I'll be doing as part of my regular Tour de France updates on the radio show. Once again this year in my 4:45-ish segment I will be doing daily updates on Le Tour and what happened in that day's stage.

(I believe this will once again be the only mainstream, 50-thousand-watt flamethrower station to even be mentioning Le Tour daily!)

In addition, we are creating a page for the contest where you will be able to link to the page and then sign up and pick a name of a rider from a list...the name of the guy you think will win Le Tour.

If your guy finishes 1-2-or 3, then your name goes into the pool of listeners who also picked that guy for a random drawing.

1st prize--$100 RJ gift certificate

2nd prize--$50 RJ certificate

3rd prize--$25 RJ gift certificate

As an example of how it will work...

You sign up and select, oh lets say Cadel Evans to win Le Tour. If he wins, then you and anyone else who picked him have a chance at the first-place prize in the drawing. If he's second, then you and anyone else who picked him to win have a chance to win second place....same with third.

There will be a cutoff date for entering after about a week into Le Tour, so once the page is up, get in on it quick...it'll be fun to follow along on the show each day then too.

I'll post the link to the sign-up page on my training blog and here for you as well.

I'll make Jon Green and Bill Michaels pick someone just for fun too.

Me....yeah, Cadel Evans my pick this year.
I know, boring, but just sayin'.

This will all be covered as part of next Thursday's show at 4:40-ish, July third when the reports begin.
Remember, the TdF starts on Saturday, July 5th!

Who knows, if a BIFNIC'er wins, heck, I'll even spend your prize $$ for you and deliver your goods at a group ride! :thumb:
