Does anyone know if you can get a BOB Yak trailer suitable for a 20” wheeled folder or will the standard one for 26” wheeled bike fit?

The standard one fits, the front just sits 3" lower than on a normal bike.

However you might consider a two wheel trailer instead of the BOB. They are a lot easier to load because the trailer isn't ever leaning over. BOB advertises that you can jack knife the trailer and bike to have it stay upright, but that never worked well for me. The Burley Nomad is a nice two wheeled cargo trailer, but you can also find an old child trailer and remove the top, then use it as a flatbed.

I had a BOB and wasn't a big fan of it for anything. For touring I prefer to use panniers because they are lighter and have plenty of volume. For utility usage it's much nicer to have a trailer that sits flat while you load it.

This is my Bike Friday Tikit pulling a Burley Nomad and carrying a full sized cooler on the front rack:

Oh DEAR, not another single-wheel trailer bashing where I have to defend and argue my BoB Ibex' qualities against the 2 wheel trailers owners.......again .... ;)

Yes, the trailer will sit lower and I don't think BoB make a shorter fork for a 20" bike, however I think Chop has shortened BoB forks so he might have some suggestions on how to do it. Depending on the bike's rear fork width you might have to cut the BoB QR to fit if it's too long...easily done though.

An Extrawheel trailer will work . There is a picture under My Touring Rig on this forum posted 6/16/08.

The trick is to shorten the yoke (http://www.long-john.com/yakbob1.JPG) This makes it a lot more stable when fully laden (even carried my young daughter in it!)
I now have the short yoke on my BoB Ibex & the std yoke on my Yak, I've added bob nuts to the Ibex spindle so I can tow 2 trailers in tandem.
Also useful to pick up someone from the railway station, take Strida in trailer (http://www.long-john.com/DSC00532.JPG), meet person, they ride the Strida, I take their bags in the trailer!

Hope this helps!

You're a sick man, Chop. :D

Another option is the Bike Friday trailer, which combines a two-wheeled trailer with the same case you use to transport the bike. It's a little bit heavy though.
