Fifty Plus (50+) - Birthday

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Yesterday was my 52nd birthday - I didn't ride my age - I rode about 4000 miles in airplanes. Since I have been traveling for a week and not on the bike I rode only 30 miles today to loosen up - tomorrow I'll do the birthday ride if the weather cooperates. Otherwise it's 4th of July weekend.

I was about to nominate you as the new "Iron Will", until I saw "in airplanes". :)

My congratulations and best wishes to you on your birthday. My sympathies to you for having to endure 4,000 miles in, I assume, commercial flights. Haven't had to do that in a while and do not miss it.

Happy Birthday CF. I figure doing the birthday ride within a week one way or the other is good. ;)

A belated birthday wish! Enjoy the birthday ride.
And I did! I got the milage and my weekend climbing in.
Thanks all :) - well in the words of Louis - I got'er done.
No pie along the way - I had my favorite Ice cream (Peanut Butter Pandemonium over two cannolis last night), my daughter gave the cycling past 50 book and I took the HR monitor along for this ride. I pretty much kept my HR under control with a few jumps up near 5% of max on the big hills.
Here are the stats:
Mileage: 52.1
Avg Speed: 16.5
Verticle Climbed: 998ft
Max Grade: 19%
It was a hot & humid day and was still a little tired from yesterdays 30 miler - shouldn't whine though otherwise Pcad will tell me to HTFU.
Thanks again!!
