I will soon be arriving in Vancouver for a 2 week ride to Calgary.
Leaving Vancouver will be a challange.
From one of the airport hotels i was thinking of using SouthEAST Marine DR. / Marine Way / Brunette Ave to get to Hwy 1 and using The Trans Canada (1) to get out of town on my way to Mission.
Is this a good route???
Is the Lougheed Highway (7) a better alternative????
Thanks for any help.

You can't ride on Hwy #1 until way out of town. Your best bet is to use Hwy#7(lougheed) to Hope and then you can ride your choice of the three highways.

You are allowed to ride Highway 1 between Abbotsford and Hope. I rode the Fraser Highway to get to Abbotsford.

If you decide to take the #7 (Lougheed), go one step more and take the #7A (Barnett). It is much quieter, if only for a while, and it connects back up with the #7 at Poco.

Which way are you going to Calgary? Trans-Cananda, Crows Nest, or a combination including lesser traveled roads?
