It's finally Sunday. After a business trip that kept me off the bike for a week, I grabbed the girl and took her for a spin.

I took the Cook County "North Branch" http://www.fpdcc.com/tier3.php?conte...8&file=map_68e bike path from its origin in Chicago for about 11 miles to Northfield. I then took nice suburban streets to a family members home in northwestern Northbrook. About a 17 mile one-way trip.

After a visit, I headed back to Chicago. I averaged about 17 mph, my new 700x28 Gatorskins have added about 3 mph over the treaded hybred tires the bike came with. I'll save those for snow.

After a little rain, the bike needs a bath; but me first.

17MPH over 17 miles is a great run, especially after 15 years!

17 miles one way! The 2 hour break helped. A good day!
