Hello Everyone!
Well i have been training for 6 months now all for my first tri that is now under two weeks away! I have been training on my roadie in which i love (even if she is a starter roadie with basic components that has taken my abuse for the past 5 yrs) i still rock the bike at 20-22 mph! I wasn't thinking of investing in a Tri bike this year, but this opportunity was to good to pass up!
My LBS has a bike swap, where people can bring in their bikes and hopefully sell them to other people. Well my dad did just that, sold his bike and bought a new one. In the process he looked around for tri bikes for me. Well it just so happened that they had a bike in which could work for me...So, i went down to the shop, checked out the bike and its condition. Come to find that this is a pretty good bike and my coach agreed!
What is it? A Van Dessel Project PR TT bike and man did i get a great deal. First of all this bike looks brand new other then a few little things that dont bother me anyway. I was told the owner road it twice and it was simply to aggressive and to small for him. He had placed it on ebay several time and could sell, so this was it for him, he was now just doing whatever he had to, to make a deal.
Rundown - Aluminum Aero frame (pretty light light), Full Ultegra Components, Dura Ace Brakes, Carbon Fork, Profile Design Carbon X aero bars, FSA RD-220 wheels, Michelin Pro2 Race Tires, Bontrager Race XXX Lite Aero Brake Lever, o yea and Trek Incite 8i Wireless Computer...
Cost - All of this was mine for 800 bucks!
I think i made out extremely well for a Tri bike that fits me and feels great!
