Speaking of wipe outs.. today I wiped out. I was on a MUP. Came around the corner with about 10 metres to spare from 3 peds. I rang my bell they all started walking random directions and I had nowhere to pass. I braked pretty hard and I think my front wheel lost traction over some mud or wet slicky stuff or water I'm not sure. I heard it slide and off I flew. I don't really remember what happened, next thing I know I had got up already. It must have looked pretty bad because the 3 people asked me "Are you okay?!" and I was like "yeah i'm fine" and they asked me "ARE YOU SURE?!" they looked more scared than I did.

Anyway I must have instinctively tucked in and rolled onto my shoulder to some extent because I lost some skin on my shoulder, elbow, and some road rash on the side of my thigh. My technical shirt got torn at the shoulder and theres a slight quarter sized bruise with the skin missing in the middle. My elbow (pictured blow) got the nastiest of it because there was no fabric protecting it. I just got some minor road rash on the side of my thigh but my pants got torn a bit.

I guess that showed me to ride so fast after rain through muddy paved pathways.

Not to rain on your parade, but that's really nothing. I've had worse rugburns from playing with my dog.

Glad you're ok, and watch out for those peds on the MUP. They are so unpredictable...

lol. That's wrong. If that happened to me I would be on the brink of a panic attack. I was cut by this ceramic plant once and almost fainted. I don't like to be hurt. AT ALL! Like if I get sick..that is nothing but let something freak happen and it is all bad.

It's going to be a sad day..the day I fall and hurt myself. Hoepfully that day won't come. I believe that.

Come on now! My 1 year old niece suffer a more serious wound then that, and you dont see her crying about it!

Before the age of softness, men have to jog for miles on end, bare footed, to reach the hunting ground. Then they have to wait all day in the hot prairie sun, no sun block, for prey to come by. Then they have to injure the animal and chase after the animal for miles, after which they have to carry the prey back to home. Injuries were a common part of life, yet they kept on trucking because their lives depends on it.

Now we have men crying after they stub their little toe?! Men who cant walk a mile, yet a lone run a few miles, nor have any skills in hunting or gathering?! Men whose skin is soft that they instantly burn up after .5 seconds of sun exposure?!

Our ancestor weeps...

i had a crash today too. i'll post pics later on tonight when i take the dressings off.

was riding, and about to descend down a hill. my friend who i was riding with heard a car coming and pulled into the shoulder where i was riding. we were originally riding side by side. his rear wheel hit my front wheel. i wobbled like crazy for a split second and then proceeded to fall. maybe at 40 km/h? i wasn't paying too much attention to my computer at that point.

burns up my arms, puncture in the elbow, really bad rash on my thigh. my shorts are completely destroyed and my shirt has a hole in it.

some people in their car stopped by and helped me out 'till my dad arrived to drive me to the hospital.

while sliding on the ground i tried to roll over on my back - onto my camelbak. failed; oh well. it was weird. you first hit the ground and go "hey, i'm still alive!" and as you're sliding you think "get into a safe position" and towards to end as you're slowing down you think "oh damn, this really hurts!!!"

going to be off riding, off work, and not playing softball for a couple weeks :(!!!
