I'm getting rather interested in pursuit style frames. Whether they be real track pursuit bikes or simply time trial bikes with 650/700 wheelsets. Mostly it's just that I think they look really cool and that they're weird.
Anybody have any experience with these bikes and what would be any advantages or disadvantages (other than carrying two diffrent sized tubes) in building one of these into a fixie.

I searched for track bike frames and found a really nice looking builder.

There's a TT bike sitting in my LBS if you want it. Only £325 if I remember. But it is about 5000 miles away from you :(

jitensha - I sent you a PM.

Sorry Johnny, I think 5000 miles is a bit far away. Such is cruel fate.

pursuit bikes are so sweet. i spent a long time being obsessed with them and finally got one of my own (http://pages.emerson.edu/students/justin_pyatt/media/images/vantuyl1.jpg). i gotta say, it rides like a dream for me. i somehow got lucky and wound up with a perfect fit off ebay. it's smooth and the short wheelbase (enhanced by a kinesis straight fork) is super snappy. it is by far my favorite "grown up" bike to ride.

if you can't find one that's built to handle a 650c front, you can always get an older khs (either one of the orange ones or the red aluminum one) and slap a 650 fork and wheel on them. something about their geometry is really conducive to doing that and i've seen a lot of them around. one of my friends has one of the aluminum bikes set up like that and, having ridden it a few times it feels just like the real thing. the only problem with that particular frame is that there is mega toe overlap regardless of front wheel size.

jitensha - i didn't know that was the reason for selling your frame, if i had known, i wouldn't have brought up my romic as it's too long for me and 1cm longer than the frame you're selling. sorry about that. :(
