Reston Town Center Grand Prix is an 8 turn crit that's one of my favorites because its technical, very fast, and in a downtown area with a big (relatively speaking) crowd. Cat 3/4 race with 80 to 100 starters.

after a very fast race with lots of attacking including two of my own unsuccesful solo launches, I came out of the last turn about 4th and jumped hard. I thought for a moment I was coming around the dude that won, but he was just too strong, he held me off by a wheel/half wheel or so. We both threw our bikes at the end, but my arms werent long enough to get him either way. He was strongest today all race and deserved the W. 2nd place for me, best result in a while, things seem to be coming together for a good mid/late season run. No crashes in the race (amazing) and I think about 35 to 40 guys finished.

dude. sorry you didn't win, but that's a great result at reston. well done and way to shake any jitters you may have had from incidents earlier this season. so who took the win?

I've got some video from the tail end of your race. In one vid you can see Lithuania before his small group of guys got popped off the 3/4 race. I bet he was glad he didnt do the Cat 4 race.

Just when I thought after Wilmington I couldnt possibly have more fun working moto...

Awesome course. When you can get a knee down, its a great course. I just had a new rear tire put on the Ducati on Friday. I scrubbed it in on Saturday and by the end of the day Sunday, the 'chicken strips' were gone.

I'll be posting to You Tube later in the week and linking them off my blog. I ran out of memory after the Womens Open race. So I dont have any Cat 4 or 123. Which is ok becuase I was working the front of the 123 race and the Cat 4 race was a clusterf**k.

^thanks! some guy from the D42, James Bender (?) I think his name is. I hear he's been killing it in the Richmond/VA Beach races, he was dominant yesterday and deserved the w. He took a prime or 2 and lead from turn 5 to the line.

This was a really fun course. The only problem I found was a few divits/bumps in the corners that could really send your rear wheel flying. The cat 4 race was absolute carnage. I wish I was a Cat 5 again where things were nice and safe.:P

Yep, he's a beast. He's always the marked rider in the D42 races.

You looked really strong in this race. I was so stoked to see you get that result. I thought you were going to catch that guy on the line.

The first 10 minutes of that race was hard and fast. My average power was a good 25w above threshold and my NP was over 60w higher.

32 people tops finished that race.

I was glad I did the 3/4 and look forward to it next year. Those turns were fast and awesome. I had a problem staying clipped in though. A couple times on turn 3 I stuck my knee out far enough that I came unclipped.

Best thing for me in this race was zero crashed.

2nd place in Reston is very good. What was the field size like 125 or so?

But still.

That's cool those big fields were sketchy, well at least so I hear I was too afraid to go back behind 15th place mostly.
