My new Blackberry has quite a good satnav built in (Telmaps), and whilst it'd be no good for really long rides due to battery life, it sure could help me when I'm trying to get somewhere in London in a hurry. Does anyone know of a means of mounting a Blackberry Curve to the handlebars which is reasonably effective and doesn't risk losing the phone onto the road?

You'll have to find a car mount - Arkon or someone else should make it, then you may have to adapt it to a Ram handllebar mount. Shouldn't be hard to do with a modicum of ingenuity. RAM isn't making any Curve specific mounts that I'm aware of, but car mounts are a dime a dozen. Not a point you to it, but hopefully the idea helps.

be careful with your curve in the rain. they are very sensitive to moisture and can be damaged beyond repair by even the smallest amount of water. i killed one by doing exactly what you are planning to do and exposing it to a bit of drizzle. the second one died from sweat while carrying it in my jersey pocket without a zippy bag.

i now use a garmin edge and am very happy with it.

Thanks for this - looks like good advice. I'm sure to want to use it for navigation in the rain sometime (this is England after all!). I wonder if a ziplock bag would do the job?
