I need to decide on a battery to use, and am wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this type of pack:

which looks like a good deal. I think this will give me the range I need 6-7 miles. I plan to pedal along with the motor. 700cc wheels, 140lb rider, rear hubmotor from ebikes.ca.

Thanks!

(I'm looking at building an ebike - I have a 12 mile (24 mile round trip) commute I'd like to take on. To travel the roads from my house to work is a bit, well, insane - crazy drivers, 70mph speeds (legal limit is 55mph...), no shoulder. I figured I could drive halfway, and bike the rest, as I can leave my car at my moms work - it could save me city driving (I don't care too much for Ann Arbor driving). The most dangerous road I'd have to travel on is a 3.4 mile stretch with a 1 foot piece of pavement to the right of the white line, no gravel drop-offs. Slight hills, one big hill.

Range needed - 6 or 7 miles one way in the morning, charged in 7 hours.

I've priced out a bike (Raleigh Detour 3, 700cc wheels), components from ebikes.ca (specifically, rear wheel hub motor, pedal first controller), and am trying to settle on a battery. I think a 36v 10A LiFePO4 would suit me. I've looked at the Ping batteries, emailed Ping, got no response.)

Your setup should be fine. For the range you require LiFePO4 is ideal. Make sure you read and understand Lithium batteries. The following are good starts:
