Looking for a new light setup to ride to and from work in the early morning and night, 1 hour each way.
Trying to decide between the Fenix Ld2 with Cree Q5 LED and this new MTE with the Seoul P7 emitter. Seems like the light output is greater with the P7 versus the Q5. The Fenix seems to last longer on 2 AA batteries versus the Li 18650, but this is not an issue for me since the ride is at most 1 hour. They both seem to have flashlight optics, both seem to have copper heatsinks and the MTE is significantly cheaper.
I am thinking of running 2 headlights on the bars and a third on the helmet.
Which would you choose?

I have both. The MTE is definitely brighter. If your ride is one hour each way, you will need to charge at work.

I use my Fenix as a helmet light. Can't beat the light weight (56g) on a helmet and the two hour run time eliminates the need for a charger at work.

I use a Dinotte 600L on my bars and the MTE is probably similar in brightness (but I have not tried both yet).

Short answer:
Helmet - Fenix
Bars - MTE

was in your boat, I went the P7, spent 70 bucks total for the light, bat, charger and mounts. Would have been about $130 for the Fenix + good bats. I'm quite happy with the route I went and the light this lil thing produces.
