Anyone ever take two kiddie bikes and make a "tall"-bike out of them?

i did. the amidala stardust is two 16" girl bikes. the seat on it sits a touch higher than most regular adult mountain bikes. the difference is where the handlebars are, as well as how high the pedals are. without a longer seatpost (which would put the center of gravity even farther back...it's pretty precarious as it is...) my knees take a beating after riding it for too long. i have done 25 miles in one day on it, tho.
i also did a mountain bomb, based loosely on zoobomb...rode the bus up the mountain 15 miles, rode the amidala stardust down...
i've got aspirations to 100 miles in a day on it, but that requires a 5:30 AM start, and a 10:00 PM finish, and about 7 one way up-the-mtn bus rides in the middle.

oh, and it's weld-free...

Yep - Scrujette from Rat Patrol Oz has a similar small tall called The Tooth Fairy due to what it did to a German's face - well OK he did it to himself being a little too p!ssed to ride it!

Here we see scrujette about to bomb down Corin Dam Rd (666 verticle metres in 10km) after the bike lovin Corinbank festival (www.corinbank.com)

Awesome. I had just thought of the idea, and knew I couldn't have been the first. :D

It's still an original thought if you aint ever seen it before chevy! Nice one.

Small talls are great if you get the riding position comfy. Critical factors are seat to crank distance and making sure the handlebars aren't too close to the seat to eliminate the knee whacking. Scrujette's bike is so damn comfy to ride. It's a geometric perfect fit for her, such that it looks like she's riding a normal bike, only everything underneath her has been shrunk. Very cool bike, and one of the best in the RPOz fleet I reckon. Also note the rear dropouts on the orange bike have been left for trailer hitching.

I bet if you used really small kidbikes, you could do a triple tall and put the cranks on the middle frame and have a pretty good seat-pedal distance.

Yep - I reckon that'd work well.

Bump because I am currently in the process of building one of these out of a "Disney Princess" and a Vertical "Vogue Edition". Pictures to be added shortly.
