What size are these rims? Everywhere I've seen them mentioned says thay are 700c, except the DT Swiss spoke calculator, which says they are 27". How much of a difference is there between the two anyway?

GP4 is tubular and therefore "700C". A 700C clincher has a 622mm bead diameter and a 27" clincher has a 630mm bead diameter.

Its funny how rim sizing works. Although they have different diameters you still see rims listed as if they were the same.
The gear chart I have says 700/27"......

But doesn't it depend on the size of your tyre as well? If you're going to be exact about it... Best thing to do would be to try and measure your wheel with inflate tyre to get actual wheel diameter., but if it's all relative just stick with the charts.

when building wheels, the tire diameter doesn't matter one bit. I'm guessing that is waht the original poster is doing, since he was looking on the dt spoke calculator...
