I'm weary about Pricepoint. most of what they sell isn't always backed up with a return policy of a warranty(sp?).

dude, Dura Ace is made for road bikes. It wouldnt last long on your mtb, and the shifters would leave you in a bad position
:roflmao:
Let us know how that works out for you.

Dura Ace doesn't make anything. It's the top end Shimano road group.

I've bought plenty of stuff from pricepoint and it seems to be fine, I like it because its cheap and usually gets here within 2 days.
On a side note, do you plan taking the repair stand with you on rides?

well some of the downhill guy at the shop run dura ace rear derailers because they are smaller and have more ground clearance. the shifters and brake levers would be a different story tho....

Wow, I'd think they'd break too fast to be of any interest to DHers...Guess not. I thought that DHers liked the XTs because they were the most durable?

you disgrace my name.....
Why are you putting LX stuff on a Palomar? It will probably cost more than the bike.

A lot run road because they are shorter and more accurate. Durability isn't much different. I actually find xt to be quite fragile for its price. But then again, I crash sometimes so a lot of things wouldn't hold up a long time.

Actually, a lot of DHers use road cassettes as well. You don't really need a 32 cog when going downhill at 40 + m.p.h. So, if they use a road cassette, they generally run a road derailleur for the shorter cage. If you have a shorter cage, you can take some links out of your chain and have a shorter chain. A shorter chain has less chain slap.
