Hello folding bike sub-forum!
I have tried searching but too much comes up so I don't know where to start so if you don't mind I'd like to ask my question directly to you ladies and gentlemen.
I have little experience with folding bikes except a Brompton which I have and I very much like. It is however too heavy for my recommendation to my friends mother who wants a bike and I think a folding bike would suit her.
Could anyone who has knowledge of the following criteria in relation to folding bicycles share a few recommendations for test rides for her?
She has money to spend but would like to keep the indulgence to a minimum although I have insisted she tries a Moulton/Pashley and if its head over heels better she will probably go for it. Anyway here's the factors to take into consideration.
* She is small 5ft or so.
* She lives on the 4th floor with no lift and would like to store the bike in her flat.
* She probably only needs a 3 speed.
* The bike will mainly [only] be used for short trips.
* Panniers and accessories would be good.
* Good warranty/after sales would be good [down to lbs I suppose].
* Clean components [internal hubs to reduce indoor dirt].
I think that's about it. Anyway sorry to drop in with questions that may already be answered in the forum but if you can guide me to the threads or answer in this one I'd be really grateful.
Cheers,
Jon
