Hi all,

I've been road bike riding for years but just ran across this thread looking for info on Ksyrium Sl's. (why do the spokes click). Anyway I just purchased an 08 Madone 5.5, and I went down on a century ride on Sunday. I was in a group and locked onto a real wheel at 23mph and went down hard. If I wasn't wearing a helmet I would be dead or in a coma, my head hit the curb. Hope to give and get info on this forum and meet new friends.

Wow, you were lucky. I am always happy when I read about people who have had bad crashes and lived to tell the tale because they were wearing helmets.

How did the Madone fare?

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !

Head set came loose but my LBS checked it out and said it was fine.

Thanks

Phew! I would hate to have to dig up the cash to replace a Madone  .

San Diego has many clubs.

SDBC offers rides for new riders to help teach safe riding in groups, drafting etc. Saturday's at 8:30 at UC Cycle, located at La Jolla Village Square. Try the C ride to start...covers 30 to 45 miles, with regrouping and lecture stops
