As the title says, has anyone tried running the IRO BB with Sugino 75's.

110mm-IRO-Sealed

109mm-75bb-loose

For ~$30.00 it seems like a good deal for a sealed bb that will fit the 75.

Sugino 75 cranks have an ISO taper (search for a number of redundant threads on this topic).

Although the IRO BB is close enough in length, it is likely that the taper is JIS or something else entirely. There is much debate over whether you can mix taper specs, but you run the risk of damaging your cranks and rendering them useless (search for a number of redundant threads on the taper mixing debate). Also, different taper specs will likely position the chainline differently, meaning that, despite a similar length spindle, the two bottom brackets may interface at a different distance with the same crank.

I would say that it is probably possible, but not something that I would recommend.

If you're spending that kind of money on Sugino 75s, might as well get the BB that is made to go with them.

If you must go cheap then your best option is the Miche Primato which is ISO and adjustable to get your chainline just right. And it's around $30(or less).

I have the IRO bb on my IRO, and Im running a set of Dura Ace cranks, which work with the same size taper and length BB as the Suginos. Its a perfect fit, not as nice as the Sugino BB I have on my other bike, but perfect for the IRO as its my basket/beater bike. I am going to get the same BB for my other bike to use with the Suginos once the I kill the Sugino BB I have on there now. The non drive side crank arm is out a little bit further than the drive side, but I get perfect chainline with a Phil rear hub.

I say get one, works great, its sealed, and is super cheap (I got mine at Montano Velo for about 15 bucks)

Looks like someone hasn't learned the search function.
