I'm looking to get my brother a set of V brake levers for Xmas. The guy he bought the bike from added V brake but left the standard levers on it. I could use some advice on which levers would be best. I was looking at the Shimnano M739 and M950 levers but really aren't sure of the difference between them. Any recommendations or suggestions for other levers would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for the help,
Rob

I like the XT levers, can't remember the actual part #. I personally have a set of Avid 2.0 levers on my bike! The XTR are sweet, but cost too much for what you get (IMHO). If you've got the $ and have a full XTR groupo, then it makes sense. Otherwise, there are better ways to spend your money. SRAM 9.0SL is a lightweight composite lever. Paul makes some sweet levers. There are soooooo many options. But to summarize, you can't really go wrong with the XT levers, good adjustment, good feel, very reliable and nice looking to boot!
I would say go with Avid levers.
