Commuting - In search of your old locks.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Does anyone here have any strong locks such as chains or u-locks that you don't need anymore and could send my way?
Just for the hell of it, I'm going to lock up an old toys r us bike that I don't need anymore to a post in manhattan with about 10 locks on it to see how long it'll last out there. I already have 4 collected.
Take that casual opportunist bike thief!

If you're smart, you'll claim it's a sculptural work of art and get someone to sponsor you erecting it in a park.

Maybe put a "steal this one @$%#" ho-made sticker on it and post a photo here!- sorry I have no locks for you.
Actually as an added theft deterrant, I will have a note saying, "I'm inside one of these buildings waiting with a 9mm."
It's a 26" murray mtb hardtail. I'll probably make sure to loosen up the brakes in the event that they do get through and ride away with it.
I'll see if I can take the seat apart and install sharp barbs right underneath the fabric.
I got too much time on my hands...

You might instead find a flock of fellow cyclists gathering, waiting to catch a glimpse of the fellow who would guard a Murray bicycle with a firearm. :p

I think that's a great idea, slvoid!!! I wonder if loosening the handlebar stem just a little would be just as effective but less initially noticeable? That would be great-hop a curb or hit a pothole and lose control? SUCKER!!!!!!!!! he he he Hopefully they would crack their head open!!!
Yeah I was gonna raise the seat up real high, loosen up the brake cables, leave it in high gear.
If I hear on the evening news some guy got creamed by a cab while riding a murray bike as he sailed into traffic at 20mph, that'd be awesome.

LMAO! :D :D
Almost as good as smearing the handlebars with a 'Poison arrow frog'
Let us know what happens.
